What the AI intro file does
It's a plain text page at a fixed address on your site, like a business card for AI tools: your name, one line about what you do, and links to your key pages.
Be realistic about it. It's a new idea, and Google says it doesn't use it. Some AI tools do read it, so it's worth ten minutes, not a day.
Questions owners ask
Where does the file go?
In the main folder of your website, so it opens at yourbusiness.com/llms.txt. Whoever looks after your site, or your hosting company, can put it there in a couple of minutes.
Will it get me more customers?
Probably not by itself, because it only helps AI tools that already read it understand you faster. Being readable by AI assistants in the first place matters more, so run the AI visibility check too.
Can I change what it says?
Yes, and you should. Edit the summary in your own words and remove any page that doesn't explain what you do.
Why are some of my pages missing?
We keep the 15 most important-looking pages and skip things like tags and archives. Add anything missing by hand in the editor.
