How does your business look on Google?

Your title and short description are your shop window in Google. See them the way customers do, on a phone and a computer, and try better wording right here.

Why your Google listing matters

Before anyone visits your site, they read two lines in Google: a title and a short description. Those two lines decide whether they click you or the business below.

Google cuts off text that's too long and invents its own when yours is missing. A clear title with your service and town usually wins more clicks than a clever one.

The technical details

Questions owners ask

What makes a good title?

Say what you do and where, in under 60 characters, with your business name at the end. For example: 'Emergency plumber in Haifa, open 24/7 | Acme Plumbing'.

Why does Google show different text from mine?

Google rewrites titles and descriptions it thinks don't match the page or the search. Keeping them short and true to the page makes that less likely.

Does changing the text here change my website?

No. The boxes are a sandbox to try wording. When you like it, copy it into your website editor's settings.

Why is there no picture when I share my site?

Your page doesn't name a share picture, or the picture is blocked. Add one of 1200 by 630 pixels in your website's settings.
